Major Snow Storm Procedure

  1. Entire staff put on emergency notice - no exceptions.
  2. If storm is overnight 6 to 8 employees stay over at Barton Hall, so to travel in height of the storm. Their main focus is to keep the roads passable for emergency vehicles (police, fire, first aid).
  3. Upon arrival the rest of staff go out with mini plows, snow blowers, and start the main walks. It's easier to move smaller amounts of snow than wait until there is 1-2 feet or more.

Etons, Greenbriars
Walkways and front doors are addressed first. They were constructed with only one door. Please note: Some Etons and Greenbriars have had a back door added by homeowners. They are addressed when everyone has at least one way out of units.

Baronets, Winfields, Regencys
Can get out of the garage if need be.
The doors are shoveled and garages are cleared with outside contractor's equipment and our smaller plows if there are no cars blocking access. When all the backs are done and only then, do we address the front doors and walks.

  1. Keep roads clean for emergency vehicles.
  2. Clear at least one doorway so residents can get out.
  3. Clear back door and garages. Not until all complete do we address fronts.
  4. All fire hydrants are cleared.
  5. When all areas are done salt is applied.
  6. All storm drains cleared.
  7. Most of roadways are pre-treated with salt "to help us keep ahead of ice".
